During the research phase of this project, a historic book about the Wynns Estate was unearthed. This treasure explored the winery’s heritage through a series of delightful woodcut engravings which were cut by the same man that created the original woodcut label. Given the strict branding restrictions that the team were designing to, this find was too good to ignore. Arterial tracked down the writer-artist – 93 year old Tate Adams – and he granted them permission to use his artwork. This then became the basis of an entire exhibition that included contemporary display techniques, interactive projections, touchscreen video production and of course, the story of Tate and his woodcut engravings.
