Jan’s mission is to inspire positive change in the world with thought provoking and captivating immersive design experiences.

Jan believes igniting human curiosity and sparking imagination is best achieved through theatrical storytelling devices. Engaging with multiple technologies and visual mediums Jan triggers emotive responses in her audience through the combination of colour, light, movement and soundscapes and music combined.

In this capacity, arterial are change-agents in the cultural and education sectors internationally and at home. After 14 years of successful project delivery, arterial is now globally recognised for designing large scale visitor destinations, museum exhibitions and full-body immersive environments.

Jan’s background in theatre-design, costume-design, film-making, photography and academia combined with the love of new technologies, greatly influences her storytelling style. She is a passionate advocate for maintaining strong and critically-collaborative relationships between all creative, client and project management disciplines. Jan believes it is through building positive collaborations where the magic happens.

Nick and Jan meet when Nick was a student of industrial design. When Jan started arterial it didn’t take him long to jump-on-board. Nick has been a valued member of arterial from the beginning. Since the start of their working relationship, he and Jan have enjoyed a uniquely compatible creative relationship.

Nick has a passion for materials and processes and understands all technologies, Australian and International Standards and building codes. Nick leads the fabrication, installation and project management of multiple projects for arterial across Australia and internationally.

Nick has a special talent for the seamless integration between all trades, consultants and creative mediums - including architects, construction managers, lighting designers, engineers and other fabrication specialists - ensuring early integration of technical details, efficient production, installation and quality control.

Nick manages the creative team outputs within the studio, ensuring all disciplines are co-ordinated and compatible with each other. Thanks to him, project timelines are kept throughout all phases of the project and production quality meets the highest standards of design and fabrication. He quotes and costs all projects with precision and brings all of arterials projects in on budget.
