Perth, Australia

2021

arterial were engaged by the City of Stirling to activate the Bina Parkland, which was achieved through integrated artworks that acknowledge both the Traditional Owners of the land and the growing multicultural fabric of the local community. Extensive community workshops were held with both the local Nyoongar people as well as the children of the local primary school. For the Nyoongar community focus was given to the First Nations seasons and the key attributes for each, in both words and symbols. For the children we focused on the idea of holidays and celebrations unique to each child’s heritage, from both overseas and locally. The end result was delivered onsite through integrated art throughout the site, including sandblasted word art and 3D-formed letters.
